Jeremy M. Talbott
Sensei Jeremy started his martial arts training at age 9 in the Okinawan art of Shuri-ryu in Springfield, Illinois, under the late Grandmaster Ron Rollands. At age 14 he moved up to the suburbs of Chicago where he began studying the Korean martial arts of Tangsoodo, Taekwondo, Hapkido and Kumdo. This was his major focus of study earning him a 1st dan in Tangsoodo, 3rd dan in Kukiwon Taekwondo and 4th dan in Daehan Kumdo. His knowledge in Korean martial art history and culture has led him to be appointed a Cultural Advisor for the United States Taekwondo Committe 2008 Korean Culture trip and a US Delegate for the USTC for their 2009 trip where he represented the US as an advisor for the Muju Taekwondo Park being constructed.
In 2003 Sensei Jeremy moved to the Aurora area and quickly took up the opportunity for him and his two sons to study under Sensei John Sharkey, whom he had known of for many years. Since then Sensei Jeremy has developed a traditional Kenjutsu class at Sharkey's Karate where he instructs students in traditional swordsmanship as well as earned his black belt in 2009. He holds multiple National Championships in forms, weapons and sparring and helps manage the Team Sharkey competition team and continues to compete on the American Karate Association circuit.
